Worked examples and how to read the result
Make widely readable copies while retaining the original camera files.
Prepare phone photos for an upload form
Example input
Select two HEIC photos; choose JPG at 92% quality.
Expected result
Two individual JPG previews and a ZIP of successful conversions.
The output dimensions and file sizes depend on the source photos. Metadata, motion and HDR information are not copied.
A failed file is reported separately and does not turn the remaining successful results into failures.
How HEIC to JPG & PNG Converter works
Convert HEIC or HEIF photos into ordinary JPG or PNG images by choosing your files, selecting an output format, and pressing Convert photos. Each successful image gets its own preview and download link. For a batch, Download all as ZIP packages the converted photos with numbered filenames to avoid collisions.
HEIC is a common still-photo format on Apple devices. A browser that cannot display the original photo can still convert a supported file using the locally loaded decoder. This tool processes files sequentially to reduce simultaneous memory use, with a limit of thirty photos, fifty megabytes per file and 250 megabytes per batch. The decoder is downloaded only when conversion begins; your photo bytes are not sent to a conversion server.
For an email attachment or a website upload form, JPG is usually a practical output. PNG uses lossless output encoding, which does not restore detail already lost in the original file. The exported result is a flattened still image. Camera metadata, depth information, HDR rendering and the video part of a Live Photo are not preserved, so retain the source files when those properties matter.
How to use HEIC to JPG & PNG Converter
1. Choose the source photos
Select HEIC or HEIF files copied from your phone or camera. Other formats are reported as unsupported rather than renamed to look like a converted image.
2. Choose JPG or PNG
Use JPG for a smaller photo file and adjust quality between forty and one hundred percent. PNG disables the JPEG quality slider because that setting does not control PNG encoding.
3. Convert and review the previews
Start conversion and watch each file result. A corrupt or unsupported image is reported individually, allowing the rest of the batch to continue. Check orientation, colors and important details in the preview.
4. Save individual images or a ZIP
Download one result or collect the successful conversions in a ZIP. Stop batch skips remaining files, although a decode already underway may finish. Save results before closing the tab.
Key features and technical specifications
Real image decoding
Reads supported HEIC/HEIF contents with a local decoder instead of simply changing a filename extension.
Sequential batch queue
Converts one selected photo at a time and keeps successful results even when another file fails.
Quality and download controls
Offers JPG quality selection, PNG output, individual previews and a ZIP containing successfully converted photos.
Practical use cases
Submit an iPhone photo to a form
Convert a HEIC photo when a school, job portal or support form accepts JPG but rejects HEIC. Check the destination file-size requirements separately.
Share a mixed batch
Create a ZIP of widely readable copies for colleagues or family while retaining original HEIC files on your device.
Prepare a photo for another editor
Convert first, then open the result in the image resizer, collage maker or annotation tool for further edits.
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert HEIC to JPG without uploading?
Choose your HEIC files, select JPG and click Convert photos. The decoder runs in the browser; each result can be downloaded separately or in a ZIP. Loading the page and decoder still requires an internet connection.
Can I convert HEIF files too?
Yes, the decoder accepts supported HEIF/HEIC still-image files. Some device variants, damaged files or uncommon codecs may fail; the error is shown next to that file.
Does the converter preserve EXIF or Live Photos?
No. Output is a flattened still photo without copied EXIF, depth maps, HDR information or Live Photo video. Keep your originals if you need camera metadata or motion.
Which JPEG quality should I use?
Start with the default ninety-two percent and compare the preview and file size. Higher settings can produce larger files without recovering detail absent from the source.
Why is PNG larger than JPG?
PNG does not use photographic JPEG compression. A detailed photo can become much larger as a PNG even when its visible dimensions stay the same.
Can I convert many photos at once?
Select up to thirty files within the fifty-megabyte per-file and 250-megabyte batch limits. The queue converts them sequentially and reports individual failures.
