Worked examples and how to read the result
Perspective correction requires a clear boundary around the photographed paper.
Straighten a photographed page
Example input
Select its top-left, top-right, bottom-right and bottom-left corners; choose grayscale.
Expected result
A rectangular grayscale page image, available as PNG or inside an A4 PDF.
The four-point mapping straightens the selected plane. Faint ink should be checked before choosing black-and-white thresholding.
The scanner exports images. Searchable PDF Maker can add OCR afterwards.
How Document Scanner & Perspective Corrector works
Turn photographs of paper documents into straightened page images. Select the four corners of each page in clockwise order, starting at the top left. Perspective correction maps the selected quadrilateral onto a rectangle so a page photographed at an angle is easier to read.
Corner placement is manual: choose the active corner and tap the photo, or enter its horizontal and vertical percentage coordinates for keyboard control. Check the polygon before exporting. Crossed or extremely narrow corner selections are rejected rather than producing a misleading page.
Choose original color, grayscale or black and white, and adjust brightness for the batch. These controls can improve legibility but can also remove faint markings; inspect small text and signatures. Exports have a maximum two-thousand-pixel edge. The PDF contains image pages, not recognized text; use Searchable PDF Maker afterwards when copying or searching text is important.
How to use Document Scanner & Perspective Corrector
1. Add document photos
Choose up to twenty PNG, JPG or WebP images in the intended page order.
2. Mark each page boundary
Select top left, top right, bottom right and bottom left. Use percentage inputs when precise keyboard adjustment is easier.
3. Choose page appearance
Select color, grayscale or black and white. Adjust brightness and check faint ink before keeping the result.
4. Download straightened pages
Save the current page as PNG or all pages as an A4 PDF. Inspect each exported page before sharing it.
Key features and technical specifications
Four-point perspective mapping
Straightens a convex page boundary rather than applying only a rectangular crop.
Keyboard-adjustable corners
Each page corner has explicit horizontal and vertical percentage inputs.
Multiple-page PDF output
Fits the corrected images onto A4 pages while keeping the originals unchanged.
Practical use cases
Straighten a photographed receipt
Mark the paper boundary and export a readable copy for your records.
Prepare a multi-page handout
Adjust each page in sequence and combine the corrected copies into a PDF.
Clean a photographed note
Try grayscale or black and white, checking that faint writing survives the enhancement.
Frequently asked questions
How do I scan a document from a photo?
Add the photo, mark the four paper corners, choose an appearance and export PNG or PDF.
Are page edges detected automatically?
No. You select the corners manually so you can inspect and control the page boundary.
Can I scan multiple pages?
Yes. Add up to twenty images, adjust every page and download all pages as an A4 PDF.
Why are my corners rejected?
The polygon must be convex and ordered clockwise. Crossed corners, reversed order or an almost flat page cannot be corrected reliably.
Will the PDF have searchable text?
This scanner creates image-based PDF pages. Run the result through Searchable PDF Maker to add OCR text.
Does black and white always improve a scan?
No. Thresholding can remove faint writing or photographic detail. Compare the output with the original before using it.
