Worked examples and how to read the result
Overlap crops are measured in original image pixels, then scaled to the output edge.
Remove a repeated header
Example input
Two screenshots, each 400 × 600 px; output width 400 px; crop 100 px from the second image’s top; spacing 0.
Expected result
One 400 × 1,100 px PNG.
The first image contributes 600 rows and the second contributes 500. At the matching source width no scaling is required.
Review every join. The tool does not automatically decide which messages or headers are repeated.
How Screenshot Stitcher works
Stitch screenshots into one PNG by adding images in reading order, choosing a vertical or horizontal layout, and adjusting each image’s crop to remove repeated overlap. The live canvas updates as settings change. All images share a common output width for vertical strips or a common height for horizontal strips.
For a long conversation, add the first screenshot with no crop, then remove the repeated top portion from each later screenshot. Crop values are measured in original image pixels before scaling. If a later source is 1,200 pixels tall and its first 200 pixels repeat the previous image, enter 200 in that image’s top crop. The remaining 1,000 pixels are scaled into the output.
The stitcher supports up to twenty-five PNG, JPG or WebP images and has a forty-megapixel output limit. This is a manual composition tool, so it does not claim to detect identical overlapping content automatically. Spacing and a background color can separate unrelated images. Cropping changes the output copy only; the original screenshots are not overwritten.
How to use Screenshot Stitcher
1. Add screenshots
Select readable PNG, JPG or WebP screenshots. Add more batches while staying within twenty-five images and the memory limits. File order can be changed after loading.
2. Set the layout
Choose Vertical for a long page or conversation, or Horizontal for a side-by-side strip. Set output width or height and optional spacing between images.
3. Remove repeated sections
Use the source-pixel crop control for each image. Move screenshots up or down until the reading order is correct. Switching direction resets crops because top and left crops describe different edges.
4. Review and export
Scroll through the canvas to inspect every boundary. Correct duplicate headers or missing text, then download the stitched PNG. If the output exceeds the limit, reduce its edge size or split the composition.
Key features and technical specifications
Live composition
Rebuilds the local canvas after layout, crop, order, spacing or color changes.
Manual overlap cropping
Removes pixels from the top of vertical screenshots or the left edge of horizontal screenshots before scaling.
Explicit output limits
Reports dimensions and rejects canvases above forty megapixels or 16,384 pixels on either edge.
Practical use cases
Save a support conversation
Combine related screenshots in order, trimming duplicated message rows before sharing the resulting image.
Document a mobile workflow
Join successive screens with a visible gap so a colleague can follow the sequence without opening several attachments.
Assemble a visual reference
Create horizontal comparisons from screenshots with different original sizes, scaling them to a common height.
Frequently asked questions
How do I stitch screenshots into one long image?
Add your screenshots, choose Vertical and place them in reading order. Crop repeated content from later screenshots, inspect the preview, then download the PNG.
Does it automatically align overlapping screenshots?
No. The overlap crop and ordering controls are manual. This avoids silently removing unique content when two sections only look similar.
What does crop top in pixels mean?
It is the number of source pixels removed from the top before the image is scaled. A crop of 200 removes the original first 200 rows, not 200 rows of the final scaled image.
Can I join images horizontally?
Yes. Horizontal mode scales images to a shared height and crops from the left edge when you enter an overlap value.
Why is my output too large?
Long compositions can exceed browser canvas memory or dimension limits. Reduce output width or height, remove images, or export several smaller strips.
Are the original screenshots changed?
No. The app draws a new PNG in browser memory. Your source files stay unchanged on your device.

Screenshots scale to the same width. Remove repeated content using the crop control for each screenshot. Crop values refer to original source pixels; alignment is manual. Up to 25 screenshots.
